Red Hat has released RHEL AI 1.2, a major enhancement to its Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI platform. This update streamlines the development, testing, and deployment of large language models (LLMs), making it more accessible to programmers and subject matter experts. The new version introduces expanded hardware support, including Lenovo ThinkSystem SR675 V3 servers and AMD Instinct Accelerators, as well as support for major cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, AWS, and IBM Cloud. Additionally, RHEL AI 1.2 features improved software capabilities, such as Periodic Checkpointing for faster training and the PyTorch Fully Sharded Data Parallel (FSDP) technology preview.
