Almost two years on Nostr. I really like it, but as someone who grew up with myspace and transitioned to FB in 2006, it is very easy to see why Nostr isn't more common. It's complicated. The clients break all the time. There are bots constantly cluttering the threads. You can't delete things...etc
If I can't explain to my almost 70 year old parents how to use it in a 2-5 minute tutorial, the average user isn't going to spend the time.
I have friends and relatives who are incredibly intelligent and even they won't spend the time because it isn't intuitive. It doesn't guide you through the process. You have to understand the rationale behind why you should use it.
No one really had to explain to me why I needed myspace or Facebook. They showed it to me once or told me about it and boom, I created an account because it made other things easier. With Nostr, similar to Bitcoin, it takes a desire to educate yourself...a trait that is hard to come by to be brutally honest. I really do hope that it takes off. My two sats for the day. End rant.
