I have been a software engineer for over 25 years its obviously an issue but seems odd when this issues occur they always favor one side.

Open source code would fix this if the must use machines.

But just like they said the machines weren't connected to the internet last time which was proven wrong I am sure we will see more of this BS and how can the average person be confident in the process when shit like this occurs.

How can you be confident the code that the user can't see also doesn't have issues.  You can't.

They shouldn't use software controlled voting machines for casting votes.

They should use paper ballots and voter ID.  That way you have a hard copy and proof of the voter.  But then you couldn't cause the chaos that they want and cheating wouldn't be so easy.
