Thousands of years of adaptations, unless your recent ancestors or you yourself, moved to a different latitude on the planet. Then the angle of the suns rays could be outside what your adaptations expected. Ancestors also probably didn’t have the leisure time to be sun bathing or doing other leisure activities that people put sun screen on for in the summer. I don’t know many people that would prefer the direct sun in summer over the shade of a tree on a clear day. I expect that Depending on your ancestry, they probably have lived during a time of greater tree cover. Just some ideas.
