Now that there’s a new war on, the CIA needs to run pieces like this (which even several months ago would’ve been considered despicable, if not even treasonous) to convince the public that it’s prudent to wind down the Ukrainian laundering operation with a peace settlement. They’re simultaneously running another propaganda campaign called “redefining success in Ukraine”, i.e. claiming victory by the west, even though there’s none to be had.
