This was the Leica/Panasonic 100-400 lens (a very sharp lens even though it is a zoom) on the Olympus E-M1X body. Because that body has a crop sensor, this lens functions as a 200-800 mm lens. 

Re "separate photo tour later", I can't imagine traveling to see birds without my camera. But maybe that's just me...
