Sunset Boulevard with Nicole Scherzinger storms Olivier Awards

Nicole Scherzinger won the best actress in a musical award at the Olivier Awards for her role in Sunset Boulevard. The show also won awards for best director and best musical revival. Tom Francis won the best actor in a musical award for his role in the same show. Dame Arlene Phillips won her first competitive Olivier award for choreography on the musical Guys & Dolls. Sarah Snook won best actress in a play for The Picture Of Dorian Gray, and secured best actor in a play for The Motive And The Cue. The Olivier for best new play went to James Graham for Dear England. Haydn Gwynne won best actress in a supporting role for When Winston Went To War With The Wireless, and Will Close won best supporting actor for Dear England. The first prize of the evening was given to Vanya for best revival. The ceremony also included an In Memoriam segment honoring Sir Michael Gambon, Gwynne, Barry Humphries, Bill Kenwright, John Savident, and Tina Turner.
