Actually, TBTC not having any value is one of testnet's foundational principles. Ensuring that property remains is not petty from where I stand.

Additionally, I've taught technical classes about building Bitcoin applications and I always make a point that testnet is a weird place. Stress tests should be expected; if you can handle them then you can be confident running on mainnet.
