Still stuck on my nostr experience.
On brave browser. Deactivated any brave browser ad blocks to see if this changes things.
Tried removing the permission on alby browser extension and allowing for each instance.
Liking posts works only sometimes. Following does not work. Not sure if I'm following anyone any more or not.
For some reason on Iris I'm in read only mode and cant figure out how to use it like primal yet.
Work in progress.
Not complaining, just expressing my figuring out this thing aloud. #asknostr
I use Brave and don't need to turn anything else.
Are you using a browser extension like nos2x?
Thanks for chiming in, I have some other browser extensions but none related to nostr - I think.
Will look into this
I've given up on Nostr on pc, it's slow, crashes or doesn't work. On Android 'Amethyst' is speedy and works great.
Primal.net usually fine for me in brave browser. Sometimes it hangs when I post but can check the post went thru by just opening another window.
I'll have to try some other clients
Are you using brave on your desktop? I had some issues with Iris so I switched to a different client - try coracle.social
Thanks for replying - yes brave on desktop. Will check coracle, thanks for the tip!
You're welcome- there's a lot of different apps out there so if one doesn't work the way you want/need/expect then it's always worth looking at others. There's also https://nostrapps.com/ which is chock full of different nostr apps for various use cases
OK according to coracle - and after resetting my relays in primal and selecting wss://relay.primal.net as my relay - I am following zero people (I think was following 10-20 peeps before).
Still interesting to test out different platforms.
Yay I do not know why but now following on primal works again
past follows are still missing / lost / hidden though.
The very cool thing about this experience is that I got more help and more positive interactions with a 0-3 follower profile on nostr in one day than I got on twitter with some humble 200 "followers" in a year.
- posting from coracle.
- following from primal is still a little hit or miss.
I suspect the problem lies in the alby extension or how I set it up. Didnt have the issues on primal at all prior to alby extension (i.e. when I signed in using private key).
