We're about to cross another major Zap milestone according to stats.nostr.band. First it was 1M Zaps, then 2M Zaps. Now, we're about 2 weeks away from hitting 3M Zaps.

It took Nostr about 4 months from Zap launch to hit 1M Zaps in June 2023. Then, it took another 5 months to hit 2M Zaps in November 2023. Now, we're about to hit 3M Zaps 6 months later.
Yes, Zaps are slowing down... 😟 However, we also don't have weekly Zapathons on the same frequency as we used to. These events lost steam and are no longer as impactful as they used to be.
We have about 91K Zaps to go. Zap hard.

Good point. Maybe people are keeping the amount the same but being more selective. Damus losing native zaps without the script could be a factor.
We hit 1M during the original Apple Zap debacle and 2M after the script to add it back was added.
Interesting to see where this goes during the next cycle.

I am convinced that the slowing down is caused by the fact that zaps are not seamless. You will go to the wallet app so many times before you wont.
Also exiting nostr client to make a zap gets you off the app !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
