Agreed - and I was running a lot of consultants. When my company started getting me to promote false promises, and then having to "go to the street to find the talent", I couldn't take it any longer.
And so many lies on resumes...even had consultants doing Skype interviews basically mouthing "watermelon, watermelon" while someone off-camera answered the interview questions.
I did briefly go back and help run a Business Intelligence practice, but I worked with an established team and was able to be a technical solution provider again, too. But that shutdown during COVID...and I pivoted to teaching/coaching tennis.
I absolutely love it!
