It’s not entirely necessary to learn how anything works anymore. The most incredible example to me everyone with half a brain can understand is the automobile. How many millions of people drive cars for YEARS without knowing anything about how it really works?

Millions for sure.

You can’t expect a colander to perform the job of a filter. Harsh? Perhaps. True? Probably too much of a simplification but a problem nonetheless.
