Apple Receives EU Warning Over Geo-Blocking Practices
The European Union has accused Apple of violating consumer protection rules by restricting access to its services based on country of residence. A joint investigation by the European Commission and Consumer Protection Cooperation found "potentially prohibited geo-blocking practices" in Apple's App Store, iTunes Store, and other services.
Apple has one month to propose commitments to address these issues or face potential penalties. The EU has previously fined Apple €1.84 billion for antitrust violations and is considering further action.
