Well, this is why i like the whole suckless ecosystem... The slightly hostile, slightly sociopathic but overall anarchistic climate  around it tend to scare away the demographic who wants to push for such actions. 

I am pretty sure over the next years we will see the fall of much more open source projects as identity politics kreep ever more into them. The most infuriating thing is, how superfluous this all is... "On the internet, nobody knows you are a dog" 

With bringing this topic into the internet they are destroying the ultimate safespace that it once was.
