Tether, the company behind the USDT stablecoin, has announced its intention to expand the dollar-pegged stablecoin and its gold-backed XAUT sibling natively on The Open Network (TON), a blockchain adjacent to the messaging app Telegram. This move aims to boost USDT and XAUT for "borderless, peer-to-peer payments" among Telegram's nearly 900 million users.
