Sa Sa's turnover dips 10pc amid unabated northern wave

Sa Sa International reported a nearly 10% dip in turnover for the first quarter ended June, reaching HK$945 million. Sales in Hong Kong and Macau fell by 20.4% year-on-year to HK$684.8 million, with sales to tourists accounting for 46.3% of the total. The increased duty-free allowance for mainland visitors to Hong Kong is expected to have a positive impact on sales, but it will take time for the initiative to take effect. Sales in the mainland and Southeast Asia saw a significant increase, while online sales surged by 71.3% to HK$201.2 million. Sa Sa currently operates 186 retail stores, including 82 in Hong Kong and Macau, 31 in the mainland, and 73 in Southeast Asia.
