Check this out: NUT-18 Cashu payment requests now in Cashu.me - let's send untraceable nuts via an uncensorable social network! In this demo, I'm sending ecash from one wallet to another via Nostr. 

Two types of transports are defined in the NUT-18 spec: HTTP (requires a backend server) or Nostr (only requires a relay). Payment requests can be reused (i.e. printed out on paper).

Payment requests are also supported in wallets like boardwalkcash.com and coinos.io - expect more soon!
