A good church is such a blessing.

One thing that has led us astray is Christians have lost their foundation.  Genesis, especially the first 11 chapters, is the foundation for the whole Christian faith.  It tells who God is, why we serve Him, where we came from, what sin is and where it came from, what the punishment for sin is, what marriage is, etc.  When we write off the early chapters of Genesis for being "unscientific" (it actually is very scientific), we lose the awesome God and why we must obey God, and what sin is, and why we need a savior.  Although believing in a literal Genesis is not a salvation issue, without it, we are on a shaky foundation and will fail to give a reason for the hope that is within us.
