Often you're pressured into picking one because all your friends like that one or that's where you grew up so you have to represent. 

When your team is doing good, oh there's no better feeling right? You're on top of the world winning no matter what you do. But when your team is doing bad... Well I mean the other teams are worse but you're just having a bad night right? There's no way you could actually be...*gasp*wrong??? Is there???
