Like I said, I get it, but:
A. I'm not required to like it.
B. I'm not required to use your services.
C. I've been using amethyst which defaults to nostr.build for all media uploads without knowing or consenting.

I'm VERY glad to know this now and will modify my behavior in a manner consistent with my convictions, and I will also use what little reach I have to let others know that EVERYTHING they upload is being scanned without consent or knowledge.
Agree with all the above, and for this reason we are completely transparent. We’ve stated these details in our ‘About Us’ page, in multiple presentations, many notes and our GitHub. We are not hiding anything and encourage people to use their own resources and provide feedback.

If you have any feedback, suggestions or resources for any other way to help us block CSAM please let us know!

Curious if you are against PhotoDNA CSAM scanning also since it’s from Microsoft?
I've never been to the website. I am a filthy casual when it comes to nostr. I'm still fuzzy on how it works. I'm learning. But it's not a priority.

I'm not blaming you for my ignorance. I took the statement at the outset of my nostr usage to not worry about it (I asked about data hosting costs pretty much immediately since I know that is expensive), so shame on me. But now I know. And I have decided to change my behavior to match this new information. I legit DGAF about nostr presentations and as a filthy casual I am confused by and am often revolted by how terrible github's interface is. So, I'm not going to be privy to your transparency easily. Now I am. I don't think you're an enemy. I am not taking this personally. I am pointing out that your decision, while practical, is antithetical to what I consider the nostr ethos to be.

I don't know anything that is helpful with CSAM scanning, but I do know that this is a Trojan horse for the entire western world internet and even hardware with Apple and Google providing client side scanning tech developed (but not yet turned on due to legit privacy concerns). Restricting liberty "for the children" is one of the most disgusting abuses of people's general decency to restrict their privacy and liberty. If it comes down t it, I would rather be in an unfettered arena and occasionally have to block/mute things I come across that I find detestable than to have any restrictions placed on my liberty.

You are in a different spot since you are legally culpable, which also pisses me off since I don't think that's correct.

Yes, of course I have issues with anything MS does since they are one of the worst violators of any sort of decency on regards to privacy and liberty.

All of these things are why we can't have nice things if we keep relying on those that want to chop our heads off for wanting freedom and privacy. If you can't afford to pay for services that respect privacy, liberty, and consent, then that means the market is so distorted by fiat BS that you aren't going to be able to dig yourself out of that hole unless you just stop digging yourself deeper into their muck.
Beave, don't you think you're a bit overboard? They're removing metadata when you use their service so in a sense their taking up theresponsibility all they ask for is no porn, animal abuse and anything not to promote violence.
 No.

I am not.

They can and should specify what is allowed or not, but... Using services that are anathema to a distributed, decentralized, cryptographically keyed interoperable protocol.
So let's figure out options! I've started to try out ipfs. I'm already hitting up an error. I loaded up an image(of a dollar) can u check my profile? Can u tell me if you see it?
In case you cannot find it, here
