 I can’t find the direct quote, but he said something like, we don’t have to do anything to experience our true nature, the problem is that people try to do nothing. 
I spent decades trying to do meditation. Liberation comes when one simply rests in stillness. The inner eye  opens and one sees as unconditionally open, boundless awareness. 
 Procreation matters too, second only to the survival instinct.
