Lurking on Nostr is fine. Many people love to just lurk, scroll, read, etc. The lack of algos and ads make lurking on Nostr a much more palatable experience. That said, Nostr is a Proof-of-Work protocol too. If you want social interaction and engagement, you'll need to also put in the effort to make that happen.

I've gotten into fountain pens so that's the kind of thing I'm posting but I suppose you could post a chicken pen if you wanted. It would certainly stand out!
but not doing it just for the sake of doing it either. I tend to see through the engagement farming style note senders. will unfollow pretty fast if that is the case.
there are different levels of engagement farming. posting a thought provoking note because you want to debate or discuss a point is different than posting controversial content hoping to have rage replies.

Absolutely! What you put in is what you get out of it. Although that said you also get to meet some intelligent and interesting people on here who are fairly straightforward with their opinions.
Agree. You'll see many people with large followings on Twitter come here and post and get little interactions and then say that Nostr is dead. They're just not putting in the work.
