For me, the point of this graphic is that sometimes the truth is beyond a human completely grasping it and we only have a truth. Because we all go into any experience loaded with previous experiences, bias, and a level of ignorance (that whole I don't know what I don't know thing), I try to maintain an air of curiousity when a truth of my own doesn't align with someone else's. It isn't an attack on me; it is simply theirs.
I seek to understand how their subjective truth is related to what I think to be objective truth and to my subjective truth. Otherwise, how will we ever find common ground?
I am not sure a large percentage of humans can agree upon THE truth with most of the issues we are facing. Yes, the sun is hot as defined by its very temperature, but most of our issues are not measurable, nor are they so impersonal. There is so much nuance. So for me, focusing on THE truth necessitates assigning a right and wrong for beliefs. I choose to focus on understanding the other (leaving my ego out of it as much as humanly possible and for me, this changes day to day), being kind, and building bridges. 🙏🤙
