I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Ethernet, is in fact, 1000BASE-T, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, Gigabit Ethernet. Ethernet is not a connection standard unto itself, but rather a protocol for frames sent over any physical medium, made useful by a standard for physical transmission of these frames such as 1000BASE-T
