Europe's contribution to #Bitcoin is often underestimated. The attached table shows the distribution of public nodes across the globe. Given the population difference between the EU and Asia, and the rest of the world, the EU's contribution is significantly higher, especially compared to Asia.

Of course, these are all reachable public nodes, and the number of private nodes is significantly higher. Some estimates indicate that private nodes exceed 100,000. Regardless, the EU's contribution from the public nodes' sample size is still very significant.

For example, Germany alone hosts 6,000 public nodes, representing 15% of all reachable public nodes. In Frankfurt alone, there are around 700 public nodes up and running 24/7. Another example in the EU region is Helsinki, Finland, which hosts around 600 public nodes.

To put these numbers in perspective, the number of public nodes in all of China is around 3,000, half the size of Germany's public nodes. This stark difference is notable given the population disparity.

In conclusion, the data highlights the EU's pivotal role in supporting Bitcoin's infrastructure through a substantial number of public nodes. This significant contribution not only showcases the region's enthusiasm for Bitcoin but also underscores the importance of decentralized participation in the global Bitcoin network.

haha, my node appears to be in romania
I think Frankfurt has a large routing link, and maybe many nodes are just detected as coming from there.
But still very nice.
Broken money are too well known to Germans, and I think currently the € also dissapoints.
 Good points
Jesus Christ, only 2k nodes in US and I run 2 of them and 2 miners
