People have been saying automation will enable people to work less and have more leisure time for decades. AI isn’t going to create 3.5 day workweeks because capitalism abhors a vacuum.

Companies won’t give you an extra paid day off. They will either find more work to fill your days or cut your hours and won’t pay you.

Companies can’t even handle the significant win that is remote work without forcing you to commute to work to take your Zoom calls from the office.
