Canada updates list of companies hiring Nigerians, others without work permits

Six Canadian companies are hiring foreign workers eligible for LMIA-exempt work permits; the companies are primarily in the tech sector; Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced a new work permit under the Innovation Stream earlier in October 2024; Companies include Ada Support Inc. (founded in 2016), AlayaCare (founded in 2014), CellCarta, Clarius Mobile Health (founded in 2014), Clio, and Lightspeed Commerce (founded in 2005); Canada’s Startup Visa Programme has capped annual processing of permanent residency applications to 10 startups per organization since April 30, 2024; The Tech Talent Strategy aims to attract talent to boost economic growth.
