What is the current opinion, will #Bitcoin fees (layer 1 or layer 2) scale in terms of sats or in terms of purchasing power?

If a fee to open a lightning channel with an LSP is currently 50k sats, will it continue to be 50k if that would pay for a car?

Or will the fee maintain at around a half gallon raw milk or a couple dozen eggs? (Don’t want to try pricing it in fiat) 

 I would be surprised if it costs a car to do an on chain transaction.

I could see it being 1% though. But that might be rooted in an archaic fiat mindset founded by rentseekers.
