As someone who has hired the services of developers in the past, one of the most important aspects to me was seeing if the person is 1. reliable 2. does good work and most importantly 3. gets shit done. 1 and 2 won't matter if 3 doesn't happen. 

I would personally work on ways to demonstrate all 3. Then share your work here and anywhere else you network.
