American public transport is shit, if people who used to own cars pile into there, it’ll break. If people who used to drive long distances fly or use trains, those’ll break. If they don’t go, the economy will take a hit. Rural people will keep buying shitboxes and battered trucks, but if that infrastructure breaks down, what will they go to? Horses? Will we all crowd around a handful of EV stations powering EV buses that take an hour to get us to our McDonald’s job? The country can’t function like this.
