An exodus of Chinese real estate companies has left Sihanoukville, Cambodia with 500 unfinished buildings. The seaside resort is now littered with half-finished projects due to a casino clampdown and the impact of COVID-19. The concrete skeleton of one of these buildings stands on a piece of land owned by Pan Sombo, a 51-year-old elementary school teacher. The exodus of Chinese companies has resulted in a significant number of 'ghost buildings' in Sihanoukville.
