You're not the only one thinking this and unfortunately we will probably have a generation of people who never have families. There is no concept of commitment anymore because there is no social scrutiny on relationships. In rural small town communities this social scrutiny is still very strong and "normal" relationships still form and exist. The "everyone go to college" generation ended up moving to cities and this social cohesion is lost. Millennials and gen z are properly messed up with relationships.
Definitely, here in Portugal in rural communities you can still see a glimpse of upheld tradition and proper families. As you well observed, the urbanites are much more prone to loss of social cohesion and college is mostly ideological propaganda nowadays. Millennials and gen z are fed relentless propaganda about fake social principles and the ethics of hedonism and egotism. I think the only viable option is to provide them with some counter culture, it is the most we can do.
