On the topic of #CSAM and #ChatControl: Protecting kids, both IRL and online, is extremely important. However, attacking normal people's right to privacy to combat CSAM production and distribution is not the way to go. These abusers have the same access as everyone else to actual E2EE tools so the EU's ChatControl measure will most likely have minor to no results. Best case, they'll get the most stupid pedos out there. My most optimistic view on #ChatControl is that policians are sold on the idea that if we take a peak at what everyone is sending to eachother, we'll get the pedos. That is obviously not the case because they'd have to force that into any single software in the world (which they don't have the authority, nor time or money, to do). My more realistic (pessimistic) view is that this is a part of a bigger push to increase population surveillance and control by the #EU.
