** As AWS Cloud Network Environments Evolve, Complexity Increases
A recent blog post on Dev.to highlights how an organization's AWS cloud network environment can evolve over time. Starting with a simple setup for hosting an app in the cloud, the architecture becomes increasingly complex as the organization expands its presence in AWS.
Initially, a single account and VPC are sufficient to host an app, but as the organization grows, it adds more Prod VPCs, staging, and testing environments. The need for resilient hybrid connectivity and region resiliency leads to the introduction of Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, and network VPCs.
The blog post suggests that centralizing Ingress and Egress Internet can reduce costs and improve security. Furthermore, adopting a Multi-Account Landing Zone setup through Control Tower or a customized Enterprise Scale Landing Zone may provide better governance and separation of responsibilities.
