Scientists have successfully combined artificial intelligence (AI) with quantum mechanics to enable computers to see optical illusions for the first time. A deep neural network was trained using quantum tunneling to mimic human interpretation of complex optical illusions, such as the Necker Cube and Rubin's Vase.
