Super. Thanks for your reply. Still very much in the ideation stage for me. I can elaborate a little here.

Our final year Mass Communication Diploma students (Polytechnic, so pre-university) work on a capstone project for half of their final year. This is essentially a journalism sandbox where they get to experiment with content creation and publication without having the need to worry about "engagement"... (omg shoot me that publications are literally moving towards audience capture as a way to remain profitable... )... So, given that their work  (articles and short videos) currently gets published on their websites as well as on social media with little "engagement" I see them as having very little to lose by putting more energy into building on a system which has the promise to re-align incentives for content creators. A system of Value for Value, building trust and credibility with an audience is very much where I feel we should be inspiring them to be.

The issue we have, is that by virtue of the fact that we are Govt. linked institution, there are rather strict and inflexible policies surrounding internet access. Eg, unlikely I'll be able to run my own server with an ethernet connection... due to potential backdoors into govt. systems. So that's where Nostr native cloud media storage seems very attractive. I think even "paying in sats" might be a bridge too far for the institution at this stage... Things move slowly... 

Even if we end up not being able to work something out, I'd very much appreciate your thoughts and advice on how we as a school might be able to have more control over the media content our students produce, and enable us to build a foothold in the social media of the future 😃
