 Well you’re ahead of me I don’t even know what one is. 
 You don't need to know unless you want to expose your NAS safely to the internet. Which I do. Since I want to host my family's data instead of having them rely on Google.  
 Reverse proxies are easy. I use nginx to reverse proxy to about a dozen local services. 
 Yes. I'm aware of what it is. I'm outrageously terrible at Linux server stuff and it never works.  
 I can't help right now but I can another time. 
 I'm not ready to attempt it again and won't be good at least a month or three. Too much else to do!
