You can log in with Amber through Amethyst and Nostrudel. Whenever you make an event it opens Amber and it asks you permission to sign it.

 only if your not signed it will it open like that. You can tell it to automatically accept events or to ask every time - like the browser extensions

 Amber holds your nsec. It will sign things for other apps, so they never need to know your nsec. For instance Amethyst has a "login with Amber" button. I click it, approve Amethyst, and off I go.
