Centralised platforms always prove to be vulnerable to government intervention and control. Their concentrated structure offers governments and authorities easy points of attack to collect data, censor content or stop the service altogether.

Decentralised platforms and protocols such as Nostr, on the other hand, are robust pillars of digital freedom. Thanks to their distributed architecture and cryptographic security, they are largely resistant to manipulation and censorship. They offer no central point of control or corruption.

These decentralised systems allow users to manage their own data and communicate freely without being dependent on individual companies or government intervention. They therefore promote freedom of expression, data protection and digital self-determination in a way that centralised platforms cannot, in principle.

While centralised services always represent a potential bottleneck for free communication, decentralised networks form a resilient backbone for an open and free digital society.
