For example, you don't have to be humble to admit you're wrong. You can simply re-evaluate, given new information, and come to a different conclusion.

Both your wrong answer and your incorrect reasoning from before could be of the very highest quality, simply not with all necessary information.

It bugs me when these false dichotomies are used to attack people who acted perfectly appropriately, just not <humble> (substitute as appropriate) enough according to someone else.
