Never give up on those close to you. If you are willing to sacrifice social capital, memes are legitimately the best avenue I've found. Repetition and humor are great ways to get through to people.

But if the subject has been worn thin, just being supportive and being there for others is great too. Lead by example and show them your values through your actions. They will notice and eventually they will want to copy you.
