There are subtle things that I started noticing about how NPCs are programmed. When I was a kid I liked watching tv shows that had laugh sounds added. You know that same laughing track they play in all the sitcoms. It’s weird to think about but they’re trying to simulate an actual theater. By using group psychology, they condition you to laugh even if it’s not a great joke. Pavlov? And it seems like this concept is being pushed by content creators on social media. Some of my family members send me these videos that play the sound of a man laughing so hard that he can barely breathe. The sound makes it less funny to me but they’re clearly popular because I keep coming across them. The NPC programming is so deep.
