IIT-Roorkee Student Kills Self In Hostel

A 20-year-old BTech student named Pardhavi Chenna from Hyderabad died by suicide in her room at IIT-Roorkee. She was enrolled in the biosciences and bioengineering department. Her body was found by students in the hostel after a foul smell started coming from her room. The police broke open the door and discovered her body along with a suicide note written in Telugu. The note stated that she was responsible for her actions and no one else was to blame. The police believe that she was stressed due to her parents' separation a few years ago, and although they had reconciled, tension persisted. The body has been handed over to her relatives for the last rites after the autopsy.
