Well it became a place where people who didn’t want to work could pull $250k to half a million in total comp to drink green juice and work 4 hours a week. When you’re in that sort of environment completely disconnected from reality or the struggles of everyday Americans, pragmatic economics take a back seat for idealism. Silicon Valley has more money than god and they do not give a flying fuck about the men and women who toil endlessly to support our country…or defend it for that matter. The disdain for the average American from the tech ruling class led to extreme cases of censorship and suppression of the average person because they weren’t “woke” enough. Whenever you work for an organization that grows in size to the point where you aren’t individually handpicking and having personal relationships with your team… well nasty stuff can occur. It’s not Jack’s fault that SF weirdos, lawyers, idealistic freaks, and plain bad people found their way into the ranks of Twitter. It was inevitable.
