Look into the Marquis de Sade (where Sadism is derived), founder of Libertinism. Its an extreme, fairly fucked up, idea of liberty born after the french revolution.
BDSM subcultures branched out of it, though philisophically tame compared.
It inspired many a sex slaver, serial killer and chronophile (like pedos) to commit their crimes, in the name of freedom and liberty. "Nothing should be criminal if done for the purpose of pleasure" is a core idea of it.
