Good morning. I just carried a chest of drawers from one neighbour’s flat to another’s and got paid in soup. So now a quick #bitcoin v soup analysis;
Soup is easily verifiable. You put it in your mouth - it is soup. Soup is divisible down to the smallest teaspoon. Soup is widely accepted as a form of sustenance, bar the soup haters. And soup has a long established culinary history, and has most likely been used as a form of payment in return for labour pre and post the Industrial Revolution.
Sadly however, soup is not transferable across the internet (yet), it can easily be censored by banning its creation or banning its component parts. It is not fungible - as no two soups are the same. Its durability is limited and only extended slightly by refrigeration. And soup is currently not scarce - it is easily made or bought from the shops.
In conclusion, soup is a good barter item in localised communities. But insubstantial as base money for the next epoch of humanity.
Even so, I remain as bullish on soup as I do on #bitcoin
