Use an anon account to engage with and keep your current account active just don't use it. 

Then tell only those you trust who you are using the anon account.

Then use your original account once you feel safe enough to use it again!

Emphasize safety measures when using anon account and with time I'm sure devs will fix the problems you see affecting you while using your original account.
