Also backup diesel aggregator is on my list. The solar won't help me much in winter if shit hits the fan. But having a diesel storage is hard as you need to refill it basically every 3 months or so as diesel degrades. Not sure if I will be able to cycle it through my car (tank from storage and deplace with new). Stove and wood for a winter are also something I definitely need to have.
Agreed. This is why I don't want diesel or propane setup; still reliant on distribution of energy source. Plus the cost is far more than just efficiently using local electric/natgas grid My personal numbers for natgas grid costs per is $0.025/kWh! Need to get that setup ASAP (This is me, running a General, hooked up to local natgas grid). So still reliant on distribution but much more resilient than on-grid electric.
