Chase Elliott ended a 42-race winless streak by winning the NASCAR Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway. Elliott pulled ahead and cleared Ross Chastain on the first lap after the second restart in overtime. The race ended on the 16th caution after Elliott had taken the white flag for the 276th lap in a race scheduled for 267 laps. It was the fifth win this season for Hendrick Motorsports and the 306th win for NASCAR's winningest team. Elliott's victory in the No. 9 Chevrolet was his first since Talladega in October 2022. Denny Hamlin, who was racing all-out with Elliott, got loose on the outside going into Turn 4 and crashed into the wall, bringing out the 14th caution and sending the race to overtime. Brad Keselowski finished second, William Byron finished third, and Harrison Burton was wrecked within a half lap in the first restart in overtime. Ford is still winless this season with its new Mustang. The next race is at Talladega.
