I bet he neatly folded it and stashed it in his closet.
I doubt it given then way he runs off with it.
You think it's pure hatred? I think people only get that mad because of intrusive thoughts. Things they could imagine about themselves. (This is risky but I'm still sending, forgive me)
I read somewhere that there was an experiment where they set up measuring equipment that measured bodily signs of attraction/sexual arousal, and tested a bunch of people (whom I assume all self-reported as straight), and it showed that the homophobes were on average more attracted to people of the same sex than the non-homophobes. I don't remember more details, or when it was done, but I think it's pretty long ago.
Well there’s a lot of people who blame society’s problems on queer people. Scapegoating a minority is a good way to distract people from systemic problems. The church has engaged in systemic protection of priests who abuse children, so let’s redirect the legitimate anger at kids being hurt at some other group. Concerned about how your real inflation adjusted wages haven’t gone up since the 1970’s? Blame immigrants and Jewish bankers as opposed to central banks and the monetary system. Often the most extreme homophobic and transphobic attacks come from people who are themselves queer and hate that part of themselves. So they lash out at others who aren’t self-hating and try and prove their straightness to themselves and others. Look. If you’re happy with your gender then enjoy it. If you find yourself attracted to the people society says you are supposed to be attracted to, then that’s awesome. You’ve avoided a lot of unnecessary trauma.
A lot? I come from a very conservative family and have never heard this. Nor from any conservative social accounts. This sounds like hyperbole.
Your personal experience doesn't define the greater reality. Pretending mostly conservative people aren't engaging in anti-lgbt hate and discrimination on a daily basis is just one more way to disregard and minimize the lived experiences of lgbt people. It's a gaslighting revictimization.
